LS-DYNA TUTORIAL 12: Static and Dynamic Axial Tube Crush

Описание к видео LS-DYNA TUTORIAL 12: Static and Dynamic Axial Tube Crush

Welcome back to another LS-DYNA tutorial. In this video I will show you how to do the simulation of a quasi-static square tube crush. This simulation is performed with implicit analysis. The simulation is based on the experimental work by Abdullah et al. (2012).

Then we will modify the file to simulate dynamic axial tube with explicit solver. The last part of this tutorial is making a hexagonal tube and comparing its the dynamic response with that of the square tube.

In this tutorial, I cover the following:
- How to make a square tube from shell elements
- How to use fully integrated shell element formulation
- How and when to use MORTAR contact
- How to invoke the implicit solver
- How to plot the force vs displacement in the Pre-post
- How to Scale up/down the parts and elements
- How to create a mesh for a hexagon tube
- How to add element mass
- How to change contact type using a text editor
