China's COMAC will be bigger than Boeing and Airbus, combined, by 2040.

COMAC is a Chinese manufacturer of passenger aircraft, and its flagship plane is the C919, a rival to Boeing's 737 and the Airbus 320.

China has ambitions for COMAC to be globally competitive in the industry, and feels optimistic that the C919 will grab large market share in the fastest-growing markets in the developing world, and naturally inside China itself.

But recent problems at Boeing and Airbus are causing industrywide issues in availability for aircraft, parts, and even skilled technicians and mechanics. COMAC's growth plans will accelerate, and result in the same domination in aerospace that similar Chinese firms now enjoy in high-speed rail, shipping and maritime industries, and cars.
