It is an honor as a mother, for your children to react this way to your presence and I keep reminding myself of this

Because sometimes it is really hard and frustrating to feel like you are getting the emotional short stick all the time. Dealing with the tears and the meltdowns.

I know that people will say your kid is breaking down in your presence " because you're their safe place" to make you feel better.

But when I think about how I, as a 30 year old woman, finally broke down and FELT IT ALL, in the presence of my mother, it makes sense that my children would feel that same way about me too when they are feeling intense emotions (like the first couple weeks after starting kindergarten ).

And what a beautiful, physical representation of the way I must make them feel safe in their little hearts to.
