Flood Damage Appeal

Paws-Patas is in desperate need of public support following the significant damage sustained by the shelter in October 2018 floods which caused extensive damage to the kennels which eroded many of the floors where the dogs are housed.

The situation was so desperate that volunteers had to rescue the dogs from their kennels as the water level had risen up as far as a foot or more deep, the aftermath was devastating for Paws, not only were many kennels left unusable, their only access road to the shelter was completely washed away.

The repairs to the kennels alone are in excess of £4000, for a small charity run on 'good will' their future remains uncertain as they simply don't have the funds to make the necessary repairs.

Volunteers Needed

They are continually overwhelmed with abandoned dogs and cats and desperately need volunteers. If you would like to travel to Almeria, Spain and volunteer at Paws for a week, month or year, whatever time you could offer would be gratefully received.

Paws provide private accommodation for you whilst you help out at the shelter. If you are training in animal welfare or a canine related profession or you have experience of dog ownership, you would be welcomed with open arms by the team.
