Mario Kart Wii STILL Active 10 Years After Shutdown! Wiimmfi Online Races 2024 95.217.77.181

Mario Kart Wii Online and GameSpy officially shut down 10 years ago in 2014. But diehard Mario Kart Wii fans STILL refuse to let the game die in 2024 and Wiimmfi has powered Mario Kart Wii for almost twice as long as Nintendo Wi-Fi WFC did.

With a vanilla, unhacked Wii or Wii U, you can still play Mario Kart Wii online with only a custom DNS code which you put in your Wii internet settings! All security, anti-cheat, anti-brick protection, stability fixes, patched ultra shortcuts, etc are all included with it too, the Wiimmfi team work hard to bring you the latest protection and have lots of moderators making sure every race is safe and fair.

Mario Kart Wii Wiimmfi has full cross-play between all Wii platforms:
-PAL, NTSC, Japanese and Korean Wiis
-All regions of Mario Kart Wii
-Between discs and USB Loaders
-Wii, Wii U and Wii Mini
-Real Wii hardware and Dolphin Emulator

USB Loader/Wiiflow Users:
Since USB Loader uses a cIOS based on a newer version, the DNS exploit will not work. You have to use the built-in Wiimmfi patch in the settings menu, which is just as easy! Always use an up to date USB Loader version.

Dolphin Users:
Wiimmfi is supported on Dolphin! But there is a requirement:
You need a BootMii NAND(hard drive) dump from a real Wii console first. This can be your Wii, a friend's Wii, or you may be able to beg a stanger to dump theirs if they don't use their Wii anymore. It's too complicated to explain here,
You need to use the Wiimmfi ISO Patcher to patch your Mario Kart Wii disc image.
Please note your PC or phone, Steam Deck etc MUST be able to emulate Mario Kart Wii at full speed consistently so that the game timer doesn't break, otherwise you may receive bans.

Wiimmfi also host custom competitions! You first need to unsubscribe then resubscribe from the Nintendo message service in the Mario Kart Wii settings page. Then you run the Wiimmfi Competition Patcher once to patch your Wii console to download competitions from Wiimmfi in the background! Wiimmfi sends out competition letters to your Wii Message Board and your disc drive will light up Blue to let you know you received it!
When joining the Wiimmfi competition program, your Mario Kart Wii save file is automatically uploaded to check for lost competitions. Wiimmfi have archived every official competition except for one. When joining the competition programme, you may help recover the last piece of lost media for Mario Kart Wii competitions! The old official Nintendo competitions often have re-runs on Wiimmfi as well.
WARNING: The game requires you to have Standby turned on for competitions to boot, but this is dangerous as it causes older Wiis to overheat and gradually damage your graphics card! Please install Priiloader first and enable 'Ignore Standby' this will tell the game that you have it on but will still protect your Wii and turs it off when it needs to!

Make sure you follow the Wiimmfi rules!
Some things to consider:
-Inappropriate Mii names are not allowed on Wiimmfi, although hacked names(like mine) are fine
-No ultra shortcuts! Ordinary glitch shortcuts are allowed, but you cannot use completely broken shortcuts! They have all been patched now so they don't actually work anymore.
-No trolling or disruptive play is allowed. You are allowed to stop and hit players for strategy, but you are not allowed to drive backwards with a star. Also, please don't throw shells back on the finish line! It won't get you banned but it is very disruptive!

Wiimmfi only supports leaderboards for the competitions. Regular time trials are left to Chadsoft. You need CTGP-R to compete on it, which requires a real Mario Kart Wii disc currently. As of 2024 it is the most popular Mario Kart Wii mod pack because it has extremely tight security to make sure competitive races and time trial leaderboards are legit, as well as having excellent quality control for custom tracks.
