Описание к видео IS THE HEBEL HOTEL THE AUSSIE PUB in QLD | WE FINALLY CROSS THE BORDER | BLACK OPAL COUNTRY - Ep30

In last weeks episode, we are on our way out to Cunnamulla and then down to Bourke when we’re hit by a massive storm that turned us around and sent us in a completely new direction and aren’t we happy about that!

We headed to a town called Dirranbandi, which is just north of the New South Wales border and found a free camp right on the rivers bank. When we first started saving for a caravan and dreamt about campsites where we might stay and we dreamt about sites exactly like this one. We found ourselves right in the bank of a beautiful river with no one else around just the birds and the occasional fish jumping from the river. After an overnight stay and a very forgettable cheese platter, we headed into the township of Dirranbandi for fuel and a look around. To our surprise find a beautiful little township with a great park area and plenty of caravan facilities.

Ally and I decided to head to Hebel, the border town with New South Wales. We stay the night so that we can have dinner at the Hebel hotel to celebrate our first border crossing of our big lap of Australia at the Hebel hotel a quintessential Aussie pub which has been in existence since the early 1880s where it started life as a Cobb and Co stop, those days are long gone but the pub is still in operation today.

A walk around the Hebel township shows a proud history and even a rumour of a Kelly gang hideout after the Glenrowan shootout. We spend the night in the caravan park which was a great option because we are able to connect to power and run air-conditioner all night. Our last sunset in Queensland is one of the best we’ve seen yet.

The next day we get up and start to head south towards the New South Wales border and seven minutes later, we make our first border crossing on our big lap of Australia and head to Black Opal country in Lightening Ridge where we stay at the Opal Big 4 caravan park.

We use the caravan park as our base to explore the region, we do the car door tours and the Chamber of the Black Hand mine tour. We try our hand at prospecting and find Opal?

So grab yourself a cold drink, sit back and relax for the next 20 minutes or so, and join Allison and I as we continue our adventures around Australia.
