Marcus: Hello again! This is Marcus Painter with another Quick Tips For Success. This is a show where we encourage entrepreneurship by sharing success principles that we've used to reach the goals that we've set for ourselves. Today I'd like to talk about a principle called the Master Mind. This is a concept Napoleon Hill talks about in "Think & Grow Rich." He first heard about the concept when he interviewed Andrew Carnegie for the first time back in the early 1900s. Hill asked Carnegie what he did to set himself apart and make himself more successful than all the other people in the steel industry at the time. Carnegie's simple response was: "That's easy. I have a master mind group consisting of 12 people who get together on a regular basis to talk about the problems and situations we face in our industry." This is a technique that we can apply in our business today. It worked back then, but it also works today. I'm a part of a couple of master mind groups here, in Kansas City. The positive energy and feedback I get from those meetings is absolutely phenomenal. I know it's taken me to places I wouldn't have been able to get to on my own. We meet for an hour or two, and it's almost like the rest of the day my brain is on overdrive. I get ideas and inspirations I wouldn't have been able to come up with on my own. I know that's a direct link to my master mind group. Napoleon Hill describes a master mind like this: "It's two or more individuals who come together and work in perfect harmony to achieve a specific goal or purpose." If you're looking for that extra boost, or an edge, or a shot of encouragement, you need to get yourself aligned with people who have the same goals as you, or find a mentor, somebody who's already done what you want to do and ask them for help, for advice. Most people would love to share their success stories with you. You can search for a local master mind group of people who get together in your local area. If you can't find one that you want to be a part of, start your own. You have to remember that a master mind group has to work in perfect harmony. If you spend an hour or two complaining or bickering, or just not feeling it or getting along, you're not going to get the results that you want. That's a major key in the master mind principle. Let's give it a try -- align yourself with people who have the same goals that you do, get together once or twice a week at least, and meet for an hour or two and you'll be surprised at the level your business will go to.
