Manipur Violence Escalates: Fresh Firing Injures Civilians & Security Personnel | News9

Manipur has witnessed another violent incident, the second in just two days, as heavy firing erupted in Imphal East. Armed men launched attacks on Shanti Khongband and Thamnapokpi villages, leaving a police commando and a village volunteer injured. CM N. Biren Singh strongly condemned the attack, calling it a 'cowardly assault on peace and harmony.' Security forces have retaliated and deployed additional personnel to the affected areas. Meanwhile, a joint operation destroyed poppy plantations in Churachandpur district, as authorities continue efforts to maintain law and order in the state
