Чатыр-Даг — одна из наиболее важных и посещаемых гор Крыма. Массив находится в южной части полуострова Крым недалеко от моря.
У древних греков было свое название для этого места, гора именовалась Трапезундом, в переводе «гора-стол». После прихода на полуостров тюркоязычных народов название было переделано на собственный манер, с тех пор возвышенность всем известна под именем Чатыр-Даг или «шатер-гора». Позже изображение шатра даже появилось на гербе Симферополя.
Среди всей гряды гор Чатыр-Даг особенно выделяется. Из-за обособленности этого горного массива от других скал складывается впечатление, что гора возвышается над всем Крымским полуостровом. У Крымских гор также есть особенность: каждая их вершина имеет форму плато, именуют их яйла. Чатыр-Даг является яйлой, находящейся в двух уровнях.
Ее нижнее плато расположено на высоте 900–1150 м, а высшая точка называется Эклизи-Бурун, она поднимается над землей на 1527 м и занимает пятое место среди всех вершин Крыма.
Гора Чатыр-Даг интересна как своими пещерами, так и поверхностью. Здесь можно полюбоваться видом, открывающимся на всю Крымскую горную гряду; благодаря богатству видового состава растительности можно также обнаружить особый вид дикой розы, которой нет больше нигде на полуострове.

Chatyr-Dag is one of the most important and visited mountains of Crimea. The array is located in the southern part of the Crimean peninsula near the sea.
The ancient Greeks had their own name for this place, the mountain was called Trebizond, translated as “mountain-table”. After the arrival of the Turkic-speaking peoples on the peninsula, the name was remade in its own way, since then the hill has been known to everyone under the name of Chatyr-Dag or "tent-mountain". Later, the image of the tent even appeared on the coat of arms of Simferopol.
Among the entire range of mountains, Chatyr-Dag stands out especially. Due to the isolation of this mountain range from other rocks, one gets the impression that the mountain rises above the entire Crimean peninsula. The Crimean Mountains also have a peculiarity: each of their peaks has the shape of a plateau, they are called Yayla. Chatyr-Dag is a yayla located on two levels.
Its lower plateau is located at an altitude of 900–1150 m, and the highest point is called Eklizi-Burun, it rises 1527 m above the ground and ranks fifth among all the peaks of the Crimea.
Mount Chatyr-Dag is interesting both for its caves and surface. Here you can admire the view of the entire Crimean mountain range; thanks to the richness of the species composition of vegetation, one can also find a special kind of wild rose, which is not found anywhere else on the peninsula.
