Good or bad?? - Split ticketing | Do split-ticket savings correspond with inconvenience?

My fare through Crosscountry and GWR would have cost £182, but with split-ticketing, it would just set me back £66. However this meant *seven* different tickets and seven different seat numbers. I also discovered I had just 12 minutes connection time at Birmingham New Street. How did I get along?
