We talk about safety and efficacy of plant medicine and how hospitals/health care spaces can support people to engage with traditional medicine practices and what considerations should be built into policy.

It is my hope these videos could be helpful to building capacity within health care organizations to better understand and support Indigenous people to access traditional medicine and healing practices. They are short enough to be included in a lunch and learn, with lots of time for discussion, rolled out over time.

The content was designed to counter the myths, misconceptions, ignorance and sometimes flat out racism towards Indigenous healing practices.

Ashton Monture biography
Ash is a Helper, Knowledge Keeper, Seer, Pipe Carrier, Sundancer, Sweat Lodge Conductor and Teacher. He has been educating and working within his community for over 20 years, promoting the revival of ceremonies culture and language. He is bear clan and has family from both Six Nations and Mississauga of the Credit carrying knowledge of both cultures. His education involved fasting and learning from Knowledge Keepers and Eders from across Canada and the US. He teaches us about the importance of following our 13 moon cycle and the cycle of ceremonies.
