The Hinger Yeti acquired Snake Venom as well as another high ABV beer and a glass from Hard to Find Whisky and was kind enough to share it with me. This beer was once the strongest in the world and comes in at 67.5% ABV. Per the bottle instructions, we poured roughly 30 ml into a taster glass. This just looked like a shot of whisky in the glass, with no carbonation and a deep golden color. There was some visible oiliness as you swished the liquid around in the glass. The nose was fire....big alcohol burn, then some fruitiness. As to the taste, it burned going down like a shot of 151. After the initial burn fades, you manage to get some fruitiness (raisin) and the Yeti picked up butterscotch. All things considered, I am eternally grateful to the Yeti for sharing this, but this is a one and done for me. It was a novelty to try it, but it is too whisky-esque for this beer drinker.
