I'm putting up some videos of dad today to celebrate his 90th Birthday.

Dad was a regular guest on the Garry Moore show in the early 1960s. He got to work with a lot of his heroes over this time. I wish there was more footage of him on the show. I have a recording of him singing with Mel Tormé and I know he was often on there with Sarah Vaughan and Nat King Cole as well as comedy legends such as The Smothers Brothers and Jonathan Winters.

I know that Hank Jones and Bob Brookmeyer were regular members of the band, and the musical arrangements were done by Irwin Kostal (who did the incredible orchestration for The Sound of Music, amongst many other things). Woody Allen was one of the scriptwriters too!

Here's dad with Julie Andrews, teaching Carol Burnett how to sing with a cockney accent. This was a nod to the fact that Julie Andrews lost out on the film role of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady to Audrey Hepburn, despite having played the part on Broadway.

On a side note, my mum almost got the secret job of being Audrey Hepburn's singing voice for the film!
