GANGSTERS Ross ‘Miami’ McGill and Steven Larwood were lifted in Dubai after being slapped with Interpol ‘Red Notices’, we can reveal.

Sources claimed the hoods had started to fear the “net was closing in” after being hit with the cross-border arrest warrants earlier this month.

Turf war kingpin McGill, 31, plus cocaine dealer Larwood, 42, were last night understood to remain behind bars in the United Arab Emirates following dawn swoops on their luxury homes on Tuesday.

It could be months before they are extradited to face court action here.

Former Rangers ultras leader McGill, of East Kilbride, is accused of orchestrating a wave of firebomb and machete attacks on rivals in Glasgow and Edinburgh from his desert bolthole.

An insider said: “McGill and Larwood were told through their legal representatives in Scotland that they had been made the subject of Red Notices.

“They’ve known that for some time now and must have been aware the net was closing in.

“They were hoping their presence in Dubai put them out of reach of authorities back home.

“However it’s becoming increasingly clear the UAE is ready and willing to cooperative to bring wanted criminals to justice.

“Police at home and abroad have said for a while that Dubai is no longer a safe haven and this development shows that to be the case.”

Pictures shared on social media showed Larwood posing with loved ones in the Gulf state just days ago. Another source revealed: “Larwood clearly had no clue he was about to get lifted and on Saturday he posed for a carefree photo.

“But he’s been on the police radar for a while and the rumour is he had an Interpol Red Notice.

“Now he’s staring at the inside of a Dubai jail cell, which is not going to be easy.

“It could be a long time before he’ll get to see his loved ones again.”
