Fiber Photonics - vortex phase plate, fiber collimator and flat top beam shaper

Описание к видео Fiber Photonics - vortex phase plate, fiber collimator and flat top beam shaper

Fiber nanoimprint technology allows fabrication of the free-form diffractive optics directly on the facet of an optical fiber. Just by changing the nanostructure design on the fiber edge, the output from a fiber can be converted into the optical vortex beam - a beam that carries orbital angular momentum. The divergence angle of a fiber output can be controlled by another structure - fiber collimator lens. And finally, a flat top beam shaper can turn a Gaussian beam into a flat-top wide angle beam. The tiny diffractive elements are fixed on the surface of the fiber, which ensures a long term stability and eliminates the need for alignment.
