From time to time it is necessary to reduce the risk of a gymnasium project by testing whether our floating floor systems will be effective on location. It is often not viable for a small-scale floating floor to be constructed in these cases. Therefore, our small-scale test floor platform was created. The test floor can be easily transported to the project site and tests can be carried out to predict the vibration reduction of a full-scale floating floor. It can replicate multiple floor types such as our concrete floating floors (FS/FSN), formwork spring floors (MFS) and formwork rubber systems (EAFM).

Common applications for the test floor would be to test the dropping of weights in a free weights area in a gym and impact from treadmills or from spinning studios. A simple drop test can be carried out and the vibration and noise reduction can be measured. This is shown in this video above.

It can be very difficult to predict the performance of a floating floor because the activity, the covering layers and the response of the existing structure all play a part. Carrying out a physical test can be very beneficial.

We have had much success with the test floor and many customers have been satisfied with the performance predictions, allowing for them to have more confidence in the floating floor system and placing an order because of this.
