Khagendra Sunar, recommended as Labor Minister in the Cabinet under Minister Sushila Karki, has surfaced in controversy over multiple allegations.

According to police sources, Sunar was previously arrested and jailed for foreign employment fraud. He had opened a manpower company in Narayan Municipality-1 in 2077 BS, but it operated for less than a year and complaints of fraud followed, leading to his arrest. Photos of Sunar in handcuffs were also made public. Some claim he defrauded people of amounts ranging from NPR 5,000 to 15,000, and now hope to recover money after his ministerial appointment.

Additionally, Kavre District Court had fined him NPR 10,000 for petty offenses in 1980 BS, which he has not yet paid.

Sunar is married to an official of the National Investigation Department and has one son, but reportedly has extramarital affairs. Allegations include relationships with multiple women, misuse of their money, and cohabitation without marriage, leading to complaints filed with the Women’s Commission.
