Communication tends to be a major challenge in working environments and businesses around the world. From the perspective of cross-functional groups, the challenge is even greater.

Humans, being the main engine of these corporate systems, are social creatures with complicated needs and varying perspectives. Therefore, a lot of people simply don’t understand each other, and the message doesn’t get through.

By creating a dialogue, we begin to build the foundation for cross functional learning and start to create groups with great team chemistry. These groups are now ready to produce quality content, and explore innovative solutions.

SO, how can we solve these communication problems?

The Engineering and Commerce Case Competition.

Academic Case Competitions, like E triple C, bring students together to tackle problems, design a plan and present their ideas in front of an experienced panel of judges within the industry. These competitions allow students to be tested in areas such as critical thinking, time management and most importantly, effective teamwork. E triple C combines all these aspects, with an emphasis on cross-faculty cooperation.

The Engineering and Commerce Case Competition will combine students from Engineering and Commerce to produce quality communicators companies need.

Over a period of five days, twelve universities from all over the world will visit Montreal and compete over three cases that represent scenarios in their industry. Each team will have a period of four months prior to the event to prepare for the competition, and will consist of four members: two engineers and two business students. After the groups have prepared, they will present in front of a panel of judges that include representatives from the fields of Academic, Engineering, Commerce and Entrepreneurship for a period of 15 minutes.
