Some more PC Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast/Sega Lindbergh (played using Teknoparrot) comparison. Whilst in other comparisons I've been focusing a lot on the advantages of the Lindbergh version over Coast 2 Coast on the PC, here I'm highlighting one of the plus points of the PC game, specifically that it had extra cars in it that weren't in the arcade original (and additional bonus music too). The PC bonus car I'm using here that isn't available in the arcade game is the 328 GTS. I go for the hardest route route here (E) and the last 'S' bend in the Jungle stage manages to scupper me in both versions...

The PC version of Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast is graphically deficient compared to both it's arcade and console brethren, in that it was lacking any of the bloom effects that were in those versions, despite being the only version of the game in HD (until Outrun Online arcade came along). It was discovered fairly recently (ish) that there was a way to correct this, partially, by moving a file around to enable the lens flare effect    • Outrun 2006 - Bloom effects now working on...  

Even with this corrected PC bloom, the SPDX version still look a lot nicer and generally more vibrant and in the night time sections stuff like the car's rear lights are far more noticeable - the difference between the two seems even more pronounced in the OR2 tracks than the SP ones - stay tuned for another uploaded comparison between those tracks soon!. Also, SPDX's HUD elements (timer, speedo, score et cetra) are in the right aspect ratio, whereas they've just been stretched from 4:3 in the PC game, which is a bit shit really.

These were both captured at what should been the same resolution (1920 x 1080p) so I don't know why the PC version has come out a tiny bit smaller height-wise...
