Timber Trail Adventure Motorcycle Camping | Ride The Highlands

Hello my ADV riders!

This episode I take on the Timber Trail ADV route by Ride The Highlands including the advanced section "Call my mom"

This is a beautiful scenic loop touring around Apsley, Kinmount, Minden, Haliburton and Maynooth on paved roads, dirt/gravel and a little bit of un maintained forest roads.

The route is geared towards the adventure riders looking to get off regular old highways and test their offroad skills especially if choosing the "call my mom" section.

Definitely a ADV loop that requires more than your 50/50 tires! Those will do but not going through the advanced section.

Be aware that many of these back woods roads are highly populated with residents and cottagers out enjoying the quiet roads and listen for some of my reflections on route choice while heading up county rd 11 so keep it low and slow!

I was hoping for a little more offroad trail/ technical riding but would rate the regular loop GREEN friendly with the call my mom section more rated at a blue skill level requiring off road tires.

This loops is roughly 380 km and took much longer than expected. Plan on two days with one over night either in the back woods or in a local motel. Barry's Bay is most likely your best bet for those choosing/ needing comforts but if you are like me, there are many crownland back woods area's to find to camp, you just need to know how to run your maps/ gps.
