LOFOTEN ISLANDS ... AERIAL AMBIENCE NORWAY EDITION ... shot solely on the DJI Mini 3 Pro

LOFOTEN ISLANDS ... AERIAL AMBIENCE FROM NORWAY'S MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS ... shot on DJI Mini 3 Pro ... a 4k video from some of the most beautiful sights in Lofoten Norway.

Well, after several bouts of COVID earlier this Summer that delayed our Summer plans, we finally made it to the insanely beautiful Lofoten Islands in Norway. Getting here as an American takes a little bit of extra effort ... but the extra effort is very much worth it in my honest opinion. First flight was to London Heathrow, then another flight up to Oslo, and a final flight to Evenes (Harstad/Narvik) ... and then finally a 4 hour drive to Lofoten in our rental car. The journey was all part of the fun though ... and once we stepped foot in the islands, we knew we had found one of most beautiful places on this planet!

We spent 4 nights in an Airbnb near Leknes, another 4 nights at the stunning Classic Hotel of Norway Reine Rorbuer, and finally 3 nights at another Airbnb in Svolvaer. Each place was a perfect base camp for exploring ... and also just relaxing if the weather decided to turn on us (which happens quite often up here above the Arctic Circle ... even in Summer!). Even with 12 days to explore, we felt as if we barely scratched the surface of these islands. So much to see, especially if you're interested in hiking. There are views in every direction, and every one of them seems to top the next. Even if you're not hiking, just driving the E10 highway will have you stopping every 5 minutes because it's just that breathtaking! We would return to Norway in a heartbeat. It's absolutely stunning, the people fantastic, and the Lofotpils helped me to stay hydrated after our hikes :)

On a filming note, this was my first time using my new toy, the DJI MINI 3 PRO. I can say it did not disappoint. Just a joy to travel with and very capable of capturing some incredible footage. I shot everything in D-CINELIKE so I could take advantage of the 10 bit color capability, and color graded this video in Premiere Pro. Even in high winds, the Mini 3 pro held up quite well, and was able to get very stable shots with only a few small exceptions when facing 30+mph winds. And thankfully, my ND filters from DJI showed up just in time so that I could use those to bring down my shutter speeds when shooting at 24 and 30 fps.
