Greg came home from school with a study guide for the spelling bee the next day. When he sat down on his bed to study, he heard the doorbell ring. He went to answer it, it was Yippy. Yippy asked Greg if he was busy and he said no, and they decided to study in his bedroom together. Later, Greg's older brother, Cooper, came in to remind the two friends that dinner is ready. They sat down to eat pasta for dinner and told Cooper that the spelling bee is tomorrow at 12 pm. Cooper told Greg and Yippy that he'll come watch and wish him good luck. A couple of hours later after studying, Yippy left Greg's house. Greg went to bed and believed that he and Yippy will make it in the top 5 at the spelling bee. The next day at noon was the spelling bee. The first contestant, Samara, spelled "Hamster". The second contestant, Jericho, spelled "Factor". Vinnie Martin, Timm's son, incorrectly spelled "Slithering". Greg spelled "Bland", Yippy spelled "Trumpet", Rocco the Raccoon incorrectly spelled "Perfect", Prahal spelled "Eclipse", Luv spelled "Veteran", and Kush spelled "Boundary". At the end of the spelling bee, Matt announced the winners: Luv, Kush, Prahal, Greg, and Yippy. After school Greg, Yippy, and Cooper had ice cream at the park for a celebration.
