Now that we have an Alexa in the house, we are going smart house crazy. This includes needing some smart plugs. I have been getting a variety of shapes and sizes to match the room decor and the like. I wanted to get a square or rectangular smart plug to fit alongside another one. I have found that the round ones don't always allow a second plug next to it, while the longer rectangular one do. That is why the KYGNE WiFi Smart Plug, 15A Mini Wireless Smart Socket Outlet Works with Amazon Alexa, Timing Function, Remote Control Your Devices Anywhere, No Hub Required, Occupy Only One Socket, 1 Pack, White works for me. It was exactly what I was looking for. It's a device that I can plug into my wall, and then plug a light into it. Now, when I'm ready to walk down the hallway, I can just tell Alexa to turn on my light, and this device does it for me. The smart plug was easy to setup. I downloaded an app to my phone that let me assign the device the house wifi and what I want it to be called for the Alexa skill. After that, I went into the Alexa app, and assigned that skill to it. That is all that it took. It was up and running in just a few minutes. It took me longer to download the app, than to set it up. There is even a power button on it's side if I'm having issues with Alexa.
