Experience the Starwood Distillery Tasting in Melbourne

It was a stifling hot day in Melbourne in the middle of January 2024 and my friend Anthony kindly invited me to share in his birthday gift from his misses - A Starward Distillery Tasting experience for two people.

This is valued at $40 per person and in 30 minutes you sample 5 difference spirits, on straig spirit and 4 of Starward's Whiskies.

The Distillery is located in an industrial area of Port Melbourne. Tastings are able to be booked from Thursday to Sunday only. Just a word of warning - the distillery is now air conditioned so we did suffer a bit from the heat.

We both arrived early and started with a very nice Pale Ale at the bar.

We sampled:
- pure un-matured spirit
- Nova Whisky $150 per 700ml bottle and 41% ABV
- Two Fold Whisky $79 per 700ml bottle 40% ABV
- Small Batch Whisky
- Single Malt $149 per 700ml bottle 48% ABV

The Staff member who took us through the tasting was knowledgeable and friendly. The Small Batch was the best we tried.

We moved to the restaurant after the tasting and had some cocktails and a cheese and meat platter of locally produced goods.

It was a great way to pass an afternoon with a good friend.
