This is one of the biggest Director Discussions I’ve been lucky enough to put together, the man, the myth, the legend CHRISTOPHER MCQUARRIE. Picture this, I messaged McQ back while he was shooting in AFRICA, for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. I’ve found that a lot of directors tend to not reply if they’re in pre-production, or post-production. And I’ve found they CERTAINLY rarely reply when THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF SHOOTING! But Chris very kindly got back to me, and let me know that he’d love to do an interview. I’m honored we could actually put this together, he’s an absolute gent, and I think this video takes the record for my longest interview YET! Christopher has had quite the career. His second feature film, THE USUAL SUSPECTS, earned him an Oscar (Academy Award). From then, he made his directing debut with WAY OF THE GUN, a modern day Western. From then, he took a 12 year break (which we discuss in the video) and then he made his directing return with JACK REACHER, and adaptation of The Lee Child novel. Then, following that, he joined the project he is known worldwide for, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! That’s right, Christopher is the director of the 2 most recent Mission Impossible films, and he’ll be the director of the next 2! Christopher joined the franchise with MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION, and then followed with MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT. I’m sure you have all seen the trailer for the newest instalment, Mission Impossible: DEAD RECKONING. Part 1, and Part 2! On top of doing Mission, Chris is also a screenwriter, with, most recently TOP GUN: MAVERICK. Which earned over 1 billion at the box office. He also has screenwriting credits on Edge Of Tomorrow, Valkyrie, and much, much more. A bonafide legend, and I’m honored he would chat with me. Check out his work!!
