In this video I derive Fick's law for electrons and holes in a semiconductor, and explain how to find the diffusion current that results from a nonuniform distribution of charge carriers. (also, if you're wondering why I only took the first two terms of the Taylor Series, it is just an approximation).

This is part of my series on semiconductor physics (often called Electronics 1 at university). This is based on the book Semiconductor Physics and Devices by Donald Neamen, as well as the EECS 170A/174 courses taught at UC Irvine.
