Описание к видео Ernest Ikwanga - Instrumental Set | Music Crossroads Live Session

Ernest Ikwanga is among the greatest guitarist in Malawi as well as being exceptional composer, songwriter and a singer. His new Afro-fusion jazz project “Chisekese” has just been released. The music blends his Malawian cultural heritage – rooted in the rhythms of the traditional dances of Manganje, Ngoma and Vimbuza – with Afro Jazz Beats. His work is influenced by George Benson, Etienne Mbape, Richard Bona and Wambali Mkandawire.

The songs:

1. Bwalo La Njovu / The Elephant Ground
Bwalo La Njovu is a place that carries with it a good history of elephants in Malawi, since this place used to be the home of elephants. This place is found in the heart of Malawi, known as Lilongwe.

2. Manganje in Malawi
Manganje is an incredible Malawian rhythm and a dance, mainly performed by the Yao people.

3. Sweet Home Malawi
Malawi: the great rhythms and dances, the warm hearts of its people, the smile of people in the streets and the warm welcoming to all people from different places of the World. Malawi is indeed a sweet home.
