Check out this new gameplay reveal from the upcoming Genigods: Nezha developed in Unreal Engine 5.7 by a team of 100 veterans in the industry and also creators of My Hero Academia. This work in progress demo and early tech footage has been edited by us and provided by Genigods Lab. The title is an ambitious hardcore action RPG described as China's answer to God of War or a successor in spirit to Black Myth: Wukong. It features also high-speed combat, but not as fast as Devil May Cry or Phantom Blade Zero. The game is coming out in PlayStation 5 as a console exclusive.

Description:

GeniGods: Nezha is a premium hardcore action role-playing game set against the chaotic backdrop of ancient Chinese genesis mythology. You are the very first spark of life forged by the Goddess of Life; from the essence of earth, water, and fire. In this epic journey, you will evolve from a celestial artifact into the first human before eventually being reborn as the legendary Nezha. Your journey is shared by legendary heroes: Yi, the sun-feller, and Yu, the flood-tamer. Beside you also dwells the Heart of Sacred Water serving as your vital companion to solve ancient puzzles, conquer the toughest trials and learn the dark truth behind this new world.

Gameplay Features:

Dual Combat Stances: Players can switch seamlessly between ground-based combat and aerial dogfights, using Nezha’s iconic Wind Fire Wheels to soar through the sky.

Fluid Mystic Abilities: Nezha can transform into water to dodge attacks or close distances instantly.

Colossal Boss Battles: Inspired by Shadow of the Colossus and God of War, players will fight Colossal Gods that are the size of mountains, often having to climb them to find weak points.

Difficulty: While not strictly a soulslike, the developers describe it as a challenging hardcore game with smart enemies that adapt to your playstyle using advanced IA.

Scale: The main story is expected to take about 25 hours, with 50+ hours for completionists.

Release Date: Coming in 2028 to PS5 and PC.
