Fighter's History (Arcade / SNES) - All Throws & Grabs

Описание к видео Fighter's History (Arcade / SNES) - All Throws & Grabs

Fighter's History is a clone of Capcom's Street Fighter II, brought to us by Data East. The game was released in arcades and for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was a clear attempt to capitalise on the success of the 2D fighting game genre.

Fighter's History features obvious rip-offs of Street Fighter characters, namely Ryoko (Ryu), Ray (Ken), Feilin (Chun-Li), Marstorius (Zangief), Matlok (Guile), and Jean (Claw / Vega / Balrog). Special moves such as the Hadouken and Sonic Boom are copied from Street Fighter.

Capcom actually sued Data East for copyright infringement. Data East won the case on the grounds that the elements used in Fighter's History were fundamental aspects of a versus fighting game.

Similarities aside, Data East made a concerted effort to include unique and interesting throws in Fighter's History. Most notable is Ryoko's moveset, which contains multiple real-life Judo techniques. I also appreciate Ray's simple but effective DDT. However, Marstorius has a disappointing moveset for a wrestler, with no air throws such as a piledriver or powerbomb being implemented.

Fighter's History contains two unplayable boss characters who are fought in the final stages of the game. The sub-boss Clown was accessed in the SNES version of the game by using a ROM hack. Sadly, the final boss Karnov has no throwing techniques.

Overall this game offers a fun experience for those who are interested in the 2D competitive fighting game genre. Thanks for checking out All Throws. Remember to subscribe for more grappling goodness.
