Beloved hiking, backpacking, camping, hunting, and fishing areas could be sold to the highest bidder in Alaska, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico and Wyoming as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1). This is the biggest attempted sale of public lands in modern history. But there is still time to fight it! The bill is up for debate in the Senate, and has a July 4th deadline to pass. Now is the time to call, write, and otherwise bother your senators and demand they vote NO on the One Big Beautiful Bill if it includes this unprecedented sale of public lands! Resources to help fight this bill below 👇

Use this script when calling your senators:
"Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [PLACE].
I'm calling to urge [SENATOR] to oppose H.R. 1, the budget reconciliation bill, and any provisions that authorize the sale of our public lands for housing, or the use of them for oil, mining, and timber production. Public lands should be protected and preserved, not sold for housing and to fund tax breaks, or destroyed by resource extraction.
Thank you!"
You can also use this script as a template for writing to your senators by copying and pasting it into an email or message.
