Planning the perfect fall day trip? Here’s how we spent one unforgettable day in and around Kent, Connecticut
We started at Kent Falls State Park, a stunning cascade of waterfalls that drops a total of 250 feet, with one plunge over 70 feet. It’s a short paved walk to the base and a steep climb if you want to see every cascade, worth it!
Then we grabbed lunch at Wilson’s in Kent, a small-town classic serving hearty comfort food. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and it’s been a local staple for years.
Right after, we explored Kent Barns, where restored barns house art galleries, shops, and unique finds. We checked out Rock Cobble Farm inside, which is a beautiful part of the experience.
Next stop: Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolate in Goshen. The cows here supply all the milk for their chocolate, every batch comes from the same herd! We picked up their Peppermint Bark.
Finally, we ended the day at Arethusa Farm Dairy in Bantam. Their cheeses have been named the best in the US, but their ice cream is the show-stopper, rich, creamy, and worth the trip.
All this in one day, just two hours from New York City. Would you do this trip?
