HP M527 laser printer will display “Roller Cleaning is Recommended’ message.

Message appears on the laser printer's control panel display

This message refers to the printer's ADF pickup rollers and separation pad, not the tray 1 or tray 2 pickup rollers. It will appear after 37,500 pages have run through the ADF.


Simply cleaning the ADF pickup rollers and separation pad does not clear the message.

To clear this message, perform the following procedure:
From the Home Screen, swipe left and touch the ‘Support Tools’ icon.
Touch ‘Service’.
Select ‘Service Access Code’ from the drop down menu.
Enter ‘11052715’ into the ‘Access Code’ box and touch ‘Sign In’.
Touch ‘Cycle Counts’ box.
Touch ‘Clean Rollers Count’ page number box.
Enter zero and touch ‘OK’.
Touch ‘Done’.
Touch the back arrow button.
