Why this works: Nash overhead is +1 on hit with 3 active frames. If you hit on the latest active frame, it's +3. If you get counter hit, it gains one extra frame of hitstun and becomes +4, meaning you can link a crouch jab. Unfortunately it's not two or three extra frames of hitstun like most mediums, or else you could link back MK for much cooler combos.


After sweep in the corner, immediately do overhead. If they quick rise and you get a counterhit (meaning they were doing reversal jab or reversal throw), you can combo into cr.lp or s.lk, which can lead into good damage if you're carrying super or V-Trigger. Note the visual hitspark differences between a successful meaty overhead and a regular overhead: the meaty overhead will cause a hitspark much lower, because it's hitting on the third active frame.

Also it doesn't matter if they're mashing a 3f or 4f jab, everything in this video works on both kinds.

Keep reading for bonus setups. The dummy is set to wake up jab, not counter hit, you can see that after I pause.

On 4f jabs, after sweep anywhere on screen, immediate dash then immediate cr.hp catches neutral and forward tech, and will always stuff wake up jab and throw, and you'll get counter hit. CH cr.HP opens up links into s.HP, sweep, and bazooka knee; all other combos were already possible. It's at least +3 on block and is only super and V-cancellable.

Against 3f jabs you have to do cr.mp, which is lower damage, but you can still combo into s.HP on counterhit. s.HP is unique in that you can combo into MP Tragedy Assault if you feel like it to steal some meter.

Obviously cr.HP loses to uppercut, and even though it's plus on block, it's so slow that every V-Reversal can hit Nash before he recovers. Idk do it anyway it's really good
