Magic for Senior Adults

Hello, and thank you for watching.
Today’s topic: Magic for Senior Adults
Do not do children's magic for any age above preschool
Everyone appreciates good magic – do your best show
Kids love to come up on stage, adults love to respond to questions in their seats
They participate differently
60-minute shows – The older the audience, the longer the show
Mobility concerns – can’t walk to the staging area
Memory concerns
Some facilities are like country clubs – people come dressed and ready
Others served more severely disabled
Some are not responsive – focus on people who are alert and having fun
They love my stories and history as much or more than my magic
Talk about yourself, talk about your experiences, talk about historical events they may be familiar with
