I have no idea why, but it feels like getting through DKC3 is much simpler than the first two. Maybe it's because I never have to worry about finding a new save area. Maybe it's because every world consists of just five stages and one boss fight. Either way, managed to make some good progress in this stream.

I notice that this game has a tendency to just throw out random gimmicks... and then only use them in a single stage before discarding them entirely. It's weird, but I guess if you're making a Super Nintendo game for the West in 1996, you have to pretty much throw everything at the wall to see what sticks. Like, I know that a lot of people talk about games that push their systems to the limit, but DKC3 appears to be the real deal in that regard. Like, it even seemed like certain sound effects didn't register at certain points and there was slowdown near the beginning of the game. It almost feels like Dixie Kong's Double Trouble was built from the ground up to break the SNES.

KI said that if I had gone through and finished World 6 in this stream, the next one may very well have been the end of this series. That just strikes me as a bit surprising... considering the Lost World took me the entirety of the final stream for DKC2 and I've heard that this game's secret levels are even harder. Maybe he just doesn't see difficulty anymore. Either way, hoping to wrap up the main story on Tuesday.
