Yucca uses

Описание к видео Yucca uses

Almost all parts of the yucca plant are useful and have been used historically by the people on the Colorado Plateau, from the fibers used to weave baskets, create cordage, and make sandals, to the edible fruit and flowers. Ethnobotanist Phyllis Hogan shares some of the history and uses for yucca. Phyllis has more than 40 years of experience practicing and teaching in the American Southwest. She and Michael Moore co-founded the Arizona Ethnobotanical Research Association, a nonprofit foundation committed to the investigation, documentation and preservation of traditional plant uses in Arizona and the greater southwest. She helped establish the Michael Moore Native Medicinal Garden at Museum of Northern Arizona, where this was filmed, as a place to continue teaching about native medicinal plants.
