We’re looking at a 1964 Pontiac Royal Bobcat GTO & Jim Wangers Godfather of the GTO interview.

The car's Owner is Tenney Fairchild. Tenney’s had the car since 2004. This is the car that in 1964 is considered the car that started the Muscle Car CRAZE! Car and Driver featured this car on the cover and wrote an article of how fast this GTO was. Jim Wangers, known as “the Godfather of the GTO” was the marketing person for the car at the time and figured out how to slip a 421 engine which looked identical to the 389 standard engine in it so it would be a little faster. So this is the only factory 421 engine in a 64 GTO.

Scott Tiemann restored the Car and Driver GTO. The car wouldn't be here were it not for Jim Wangers, who ordered it new. And it sure wouldn't look as nice as it does today were it not for Scott, who faithfully returned the car to as-tested condition.
