The Chishtī Order is a tariqa, an order or school within the mystic Sufi tradition of #Sunni #Islam . The #Chishti Order is known for its emphasis on love, tolerance, and openness. It began with Abu Ishaq Shami in Chishti, a small town near Herat, Afghanistan, in about 930 AD.
Chishtī Muīn al-Dīn Ḥasan Sijzī (1143–1236 CE), known more commonly as Muʿīn al-Dīn Chishtī or Moinuddin Chishti, or by the epithet Ghareeb Nawaz (lit. 'comfort to the poor'), or reverently as a Shaykh Muʿīn al-Dīn or Muʿīn al-Dīn or Khwājā Muʿīn al-Dīn (Urdu: معین الدین چشتی) by Muslims of the Indian subcontinent, was a Persian Sunni #Muslim preacher and Sayyid, ascetic, religious scholar, philosopher, and mystic from Sistan, who eventually ended up settling in the Indian subcontinent in the early 13th-century, where he promulgated the famous Chishtiyya order of Sunni mysticism.
In this video, we have talked about the Chishti Order and how it came to India with Khawaja #Moinuddin Chisti and later spread to the farthest parts of India and Modern day Pakistan Through his followers like Amir Khusrow, #nizamuddin Auliya, Ali #Hujwiri, Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki and into the #deccan Region through Sheikh Buharnuddin Gharib
We have discussed the philosophy of the Chistis which is love and tolerance and it has helped them to spread Islam and its branches to different parts of the world. I have given a little glimpse of the Fundamental of Sufism in this Video but if you want to learn more about the origin of Sufism you can watch my prior video
