Here are some details of the first day of our trip.
► We flew with American Airlines at LAX.
► We arrived at Kona International Airport.
► We purchased groceries at Walmart and Costco to save on food.
► We stayed in Ocean Tower at Hilton Waikoloa Village.
► We did some night swimming and strolled around.

You're probably here because you're looking for information on how to travel to Hawaii in 2021 during the pandemic. My video didn't layout the entire process though, just the walkthrough.

Since we went to Kona and flew with American Airlines at a specific date, your process will be different. So always double check with your airlines, destination, hotel and other commitments.***

✈️ Flying with American Airlines & Arriving to Hawaii:

💡 Prior to Your Flight:
► Ready your flight details, boarding pass and itinerary.
► Prepare your vaccination cards and/or get negative test result.
--- Vaccination cards for those vaccinated already. Test results for those who aren't (ie. kids below 13)
--- You can use a digital version of these, but having the physical copies work too as a failsafe.
► Sign in to SAFE Travels and fill out traveler form, upload vaccination card info and photo, and/or upload negative test results.
► Pack your bags.

💡 Day of Your Flight & Arrival to Hawaii:
► DOUBLE CHECK if you brought your documents and other stuff!
► Get to the airport at least 3 hours before your departure (TSA lines can get long, and this will give you enough time to fix things)
► When you're at your boarding gate, look for the American Airlines desk for entry to Hawaii. You will show your QR code from SAFE Travels, vax card and/or negative test result to get your AA wristband (this will allow you to BOARD THE PLANE & ARRIVE TO HAWAII).
► Board the plane by showing your ID and boarding pass.
► No other requirements will be checked when you land (at least that's what our experience was).

💡 Checking in at Hilton Waikoloa Village
► Check in at front desk at Ocean Tower or Lagoon Tower
► Show your QR code from SAFE Travels and ID.
► Wear your wristband.
► Enjoy your Hawaii vacation!

*** This process may change at any point in time due to the pandemic and at the time you watch this video. Do not base your plans on this. Always DOUBLE CHECK to make sure that the guidelines are still valid, or they may have changed already, adding more steps to the process.
