Laurent Cartier is Head of Special Initiatives at the Swiss Gemmological Institute SSEF and a lecturer in gemmology at University of Lausanne & ELSTE, as well as being an affiliated associate professor at the University of Delaware (USA). He holds a PhD from the University of Basel (Switzerland). Laurent is co-founder of the Sustainable Pearls project. His PhD research explored sustainability and traceability issues in pearl farming. He also co-founded The Gemstones and Sustainable Development Knowledge Hub. His work has been reported by National Geographic, BBC, FastCoExist, Financial Times, Vogue and Tages Anzeiger.

Sylvie Arkoun is a brand strategist and jewellery story author. After starting her career in international marketing at Kodak and Guerlain, she has devoted the past 20 years to the jewellery world: founder of her eponymous jewellery brand, head of international development for Maison Selim Mouzannar, co-creator of the Macle concept store in Beirut, and founder of the digital media Les Précieuses. Author of two biographies (PUF, Barzakh), she now brings her dual expertise - strategy and writing - to jewellery houses and designers. Her mission: to turn a brand's story into a strategic asset, driving visibility, desirability and growth.

Muriel Piaser is an International Creative Consultant specializing in fashion counseling, public relations, and global development. She is best recognized for her large scale role in the creation of The Box, an extension of Paris fashion weeks Who’s Next tradeshow, as well as her position at Prêt-à-Porter Paris trade-show as Director of Exhibitions. For more than 15 years, Piaser has provided emerging markets, designers, and established brands with ideas that not only create new opportunities but also maximizes their potential. As a graduate of EFAP(1994), Piaser made her mark in the public relations world by working for some of fashion's biggest designers: Jean-Paul Gaultier, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Atsuro Tayama, and still Torrente Haute Couture. Maintaining her craft through poise and passion, Piaser’s philosophy is curbed via matching opportunities to the untapped landscapes that wait abroad. In 1998, she joined the trade show Who's Next as Sales Manager where she created a “fresh” universe dedicated to young designers. Shortly after, she became the Director of Exhibitions for the notable Prêt-à-Porter Paris tradeshow in Paris, Tokyo and New York until 2011. Chic and charismatic, Piaser has been featured on a band of noteworthy websites including Forbes, V-Mag Spain, Fashion-Daily News, and WWD, with each highlighting her overall skills, talents, and accomplishments. Launched in 2012, Muriel Piaser Consulting is Piaser’s latest platform for offering her services to international fashion brands and Councils of fashion. Piaser also maintains a key position in the success of countless International and Parisian fashion fairs. Spearheaded by communication savvy and public influence, her expert eye for trends and talent is key for landing universal concepts into the minds of a thriving generation.
