How To Crochet A PokeBall, EASY For Beginners

Materials:
4 Weight, non-textured yarn in Black, White, and Red. (I use Caron Simply Soft Yarn)
Poly-Fil or any other Stuffing Material
Hook Size F or 3.75mm
Scissors
Yarn Needle/Tapestry Needle

Pattern:

Starting with the White Yarn working from the bottom of the ball to the top.

Magic Ring or Chain 2

Rnd 1: 6 sc in first chain or in magic ring……………………………………………………6 st
Rnd 2: Inc. in each space across………………………………………………………………..12 st
Rnd 3: Inc. in the first space, Sc in the second space. Repeat…………………….18 st
Rnd 4: *Inc. in the first space, sc in the next two spaces. Repeat at the *….24 st
Rnd 5: *Inc. in the first space, sc in the next three spaces. Repeat at the *.30 st
Rnd 6-8: Sc in each space across………………………………………………………………….30 st

Tie Off. Small Tail. Knot on the inside of work. Switch To Black Yarn.

Attach Black Yarn near where we tied off the white yarn. Keep the knots close to each other. Slip Stitch in the Back Loop Only of the stitch. Chain 1. You are now set up for the rnd.

Rnd 9: In The BACK LOOPS ONLY single crochet in each space around………….30 st
Rnd 10: In Both Loops (normal sc) Single Crochet in each space around………..30 st

Tie Off. Small Tail. Knot on the inside of the work. Switch To Red Yarn.

Attach Red Yarn near where we tied off the Black yarn. Keep the knots close to each other so we can cover them up with the button.

Slip Stitch in the FRONT Loop Only. Chain 1. You are now set up for this rnd.

Rnd 11: In the FRONT LOOPS ONLY single crochet in each space around…………30 st
Rnd 12-13: In Both Loops (normal sc) single crochet in each space around……..30 st
Rnd 14: * Dec. the first two spaces, single crochet in the next 3 spaces.
Repeat from the *…………………………………………………………………………….24 st
Rnd 15: *Dec. the first two spaces, single crochet in the next 2 spaces.
Repeat from the *……………………………………………………………………………..18 st

Now is when you will add Stuffing to your Pokeball.

Rnd 16: Only Work in the FRONT LOOPS ONLY *Dec. the first two spaces,
single crochet in the next space. Repeat from the *……………………….……12st

Double Check your stuffing to make sure it is where
you want it to be before we close

Rnd 17: Only Work in the FRONT LOOPS ONLY * Dec. every two spaces together.
Repeat at the *………………………………………………………………………………………6 sp

To close, Slip stitch in the 3rd space from hook or directly across the whole.
Tie Off. Small Tail. Knot and, with crochet hook, pull yarn inside ball.

Outter Button:

You will be using your Black Yarn

Chain 2 or Magic Ring

Rnd 1: 8 sc in the first chain or in magic ring………………………………………………………………8 st
Rnd 2: Inc. in each space across…………………………………………………………………………………16 st

Tie Off. Long Tail for sewing button onto ball. Tie Knot on the inside of the work.

Inner Button:

You will be using your White Yarn

Chain 2 or Magic Ring

Rnd 1: 8 sc in the first chain or in magic ring………………………………………………………………8 st

Tie Off. Long Tail for sewing button onto ball. Tie Knot on the inside of the work.

Attaching:

Take the white button and lay it on top of the black button. With your tapestry needle or yarn needle and the tail of white yarn. Sew the white button onto the black button. When sewing just focus on the inside of the button attaching. Do Not sew around the outer part of the white button. We want the sides of the white to be able to flip up to create that 3D effect. Tie knot on the back side of the black button. Cut off any long pieces.

Take the black tail and the yarn needle. Place the button onto the ball covering up the color change knots. Again, sew on the inside of the black. Do Not sew AROUND the edge. We want the edge to be able to flap up and down to create that 3D effect. Tie knot on the underside of the black button the hide the knot.

CONGRATULATIONS!! You are Done.
