Significance of Guru Purnima - By Swami Advayananda

Swami Advayanandji in this talk on Guru Purnima Day (9th July 2017) - highlights the uniqueness blessed upon humanity in the form of a Guru and the need for a Guru.

He also clarifies why among all Gurus, Bhagavan Veda Vyasa's birthday is being celebrated as "Guru Purnima". Swamiji answers this by elaborating on the magnificent contributions made by Vyasacharya and the magnitude of which he has rendered them.

He mentions a powerful shloka that glorifies Vyasacharya to be equal to Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

Swamiji winds up by telling that Guru Purnima is equally important for students and Gurus as this day reminds the students to have deep gratitude towards the Guru Parampara and the Gurus, of their responsibilities.
