He has been interested in music since childhood. I used to sing in college cultural programs and get many prizes. After completing my MA, I aspired to become an air hostess.

One day in 1972, when he met Raman, he sang in his band 'Muziano'. I also sang. He paid a salary of Rs.30

I sang in his band for four consecutive years, alone and with him in many concerts. Suddenly, one day, he asked, ``Can we both get married?'' I agree, we friends got married in 1976. Son Vignesh Ramanan.

Uma Ramanan stage performance : Uma Ramanan had very busy concerts in the 80s and 90s. He also has the experience of performing many concerts in a single day. We have done more than 6,000 concerts so far. Having sung only in stage concerts, I made my debut as a playback singer in the film 'Neerottam' composed by my husband. Later, many opportunities came to sing with many composers.

Even though Ilayaraja sir sang the first song in the music film 'Innum Chila Pakagal', it was the song 'Poongadave Choruthakavai' from the film 'Nizhals' that gave him the biggest reach. I went on to sing hundreds of songs in Raja Music.

Uma ramanan tamil songs: 'Agaya Vennilave', 'Nee Badi Naan Badi', 'Bhoopalam Uzikum' and 'Ananda Ragam' were super hit songs sung by Raja in the musical. That's why I was known as 'Hit List Singer' at that time. My favorite songs are 'Poongatheve Chuchathavai' and 'Kannam Kannumthan (Thirupachi)'.

Husband Ramanan has acted in some films, composed music and sung many background songs. But I really like him as a presenter. Host of Sun TV 'Sabtha Swarangal' program for 10 years. His role is great in creating hundreds of singers.
