Externsteine in 4K (Famous Black magic ritual place in medieval era)

The Externsteine is a sandstone rock formation located in the Teutoburg Forest, near the old town of Horn-Bad Meinberg in the Lippe district of North Rhine-Westphalia state of Germany. Once used to believe as a place hosted dark magic rituals( devil worship) of the pagan Saxons. The stones were used as a hermitage in the Middle Ages and then later in the high medieval period served as a Christian chapel. During the early modern period, the hermitage became a hideout for bandits. In the 1980s the site gained a reputation as a "pagan sacred site" and gained a lot of visitors. Therefore, the municipalities of the Lippe prohibited camping, alcohol consumption, and open fires on the site. The Externsteine site has been a national geotope in Germany since 2006.
