The MHX Mag Taper series feature rod blanks that have very powerful mid and butt strength with a fast, responsive tip flex. With lengths ranging from 6'6" to 7'10" and powers from Medium to Xtra Heavy, the Mag Taper Series is great for all around freshwater applications. These blanks really shine when used for Largemouth, Smallmouth and Peacock Bass, lunker Walleyes, or even mid-range Pike fishing.

Even though we list these as freshwater rod blanks, they are also great crossover models for light to mid range saltwater applications like Inshore and Nearshore.

Manufactured from high performance graphite material, these rod blanks have the proper balance of power and responsive tip flex to cover just about any technique. The infamous taper and performance of this Mag Taper lineup comes from a Toray 12K Intermediate modulus Fiber of 45 million modulus with 853 ksi and a Hardened Resin System. A durable, lightweight and very sensitive rod blank, this series could be described as the Work Horse Series.
