Rheem Hybrid Electric Water Heater Heat Pump Kicking Out A004 Comp.Shutdown: Discharge-Suction Trip

This video shows what I did to resolve our Rheem Hybrid Electric Water Heater heat pump kicking out. We started getting these two simultaneous alarms when the heat pump would stop running unexpectedly. Heat Pump Water Heater Gen 5 Hardware Alarm and A004 Comp.Shutdown: Discharge-Suction Trip. We never lost hot water because the electric resistance elements would take over. I tried the internet and then ended up calling a special Rheem Technical Service phone number for the hybrid hot water heaters : 1-800-995-0982. The Technician was able to talk me through a diagnostic procedure. This video covers how I followed their advice to correct the problem. The water heater is now running well with no issues.
