Ps 91:13-16 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion
and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his
love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because
he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long
life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
1. Because You Set Your Love on Him Expect to Advance, Not to Retreat
Lk 10:19-20 I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt
you 20 do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather
rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
● Trample – to walk, go, march, a forceful advancing, creating paths
Matt 11:12 the kingdom suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
Mk 16:18 they’ll take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will
not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
2. Because You Set Your Love on Him Expect Deliverance From Trouble
Ps 34:4,17 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all
my fears. 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them
out of all their troubles.
● One thing about trouble is that it doesn’t outlast God’s faithfulness
● He never promised a trouble-free life, but He did promise deliverance
Is 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through
the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire,
you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Ps 66:12(kjv) we went through fire and through water (Corona-19) : but
thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
● Trouble comes because you’re fighting over territory
Deut 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of
them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not
leave you nor forsake you.”
3. Because You Set Your Love on Him, Expect Honor and Promotion
Js 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
● When we set our love and trust on Him, that’s humility
Matt 23:12 whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles
himself will be exalted.
Ps 75:6-7 For exaltation doesn’t come from the East, North, West or South.
7 But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.
4. Because You Set Your Love on Him Expect Salvation and a Good Long Life
Ex 14:13 Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord,
which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see
today, you shall see again no more forever.
● Save - help, rescue, deliver, set free health, healing and well-being
Jer 17:14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be
saved, For You are my praise.
Jn 10:10(amp) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I
came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the
full, till it overflows]
