In this video I share our American raku firing day at the Dallas Creative Arts Center. This is an American raku process, that is inspired by, but nothing exactly like traditional Japanese raku firing. We did a glaze reduction raku firing, where all pieces were covered in a glaze, heated red hot, then pulled from the kiln and put directly into a reducing atmosphere using trash cans and newspaper. We had a wonderful time, it was a beautiful day, and we got some amazing results.
