Those devotees who are always engaged in devotion attain salvation. Shiva is a Sanskrit language word, which means welfare or auspicious. Shiva is cited to be peace bringer in Yajurveda. 'Shi' means destroyer of sins, while 'va' means giver. But do you know what is the real meaning of Shivling? Many people do not know anything about it. So let us know what is the meaning of Mahadev's Shivling?

भक्ति में जो भक्त सदैव लगे रहते हैं उन्हें मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है। शिव संस्कृत भाषा का शब्द है, जिसका अर्थ है, कल्याणकारी या शुभकारी। यजुर्वेद में शिव को शांतिदाता बताया गया है। ‘शि’ का अर्थ है, पापों का नाश करने वाला, जबकि ‘व’ का अर्थ देने वाला यानी दाता। पर क्या आपको पता है कि शिवलिंग का वास्तविक अर्थ क्या है ? कई लोग इसके विषय में कुछ नही जानते हैं।तो आइए जानते हैं कि महादेव के शिवलिंग का अर्थ क्या होता है?
