A Country Cottage Journal

This journal was inspired by a lovely, hand embroidered and cross stitched piece I recently discovered at an antique mall in Scottsboro, Alabama, which I've used as the cover for the journal. The hand stitching was completed by Mary Davis (that's all I know about her, other than she may live in Scottsboro, Alabama) and the artist who designed the picture for stitching is Paula Vaughan and it's called "Summers Remembered".

NOTE: I mistakenly identified the artist as Teresa Wentzler in the video. She's another favorite artist for creating stitchwork pieces, but this particular piece is by Paula Vaughan. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

I also used original pages (no photocopies) from the book A Treasury of Country Cottages. It has 3 signatures and approximately 65 pages, with a large number of additional journal cards, tags, booklets and decorative pages for LOTS of journal space! The dimensions are: 7 3/4 inches wide by 8 1/8 inches tall, with a 2 inch spine. Included with the journal are six charms created from jewelry findings affixed to the pages, a writing board, and a hand-made, removable tassel made from glass beads, silk threads and a sweet little turtle pendant.
